Support Coordination
Someone in your corner who knows how this works
An NDIS plan is a budget, not a set of instructions. Support coordination is having someone who can read it properly, find you the right people, sort out the admin, and make sure the money goes where it will do the most good.
An honest word about conflict of interest
My Aid provides support coordination and other supports. That creates a real conflict of interest, and pretending otherwise would not serve you.
Here is how we manage it. If your support coordinator suggests a My Aid service, you will get that relationship explained in writing, you will be offered genuine alternatives from other providers, and your decision will be recorded. Your coordinator does not benefit from you choosing us. You can use our coordination and someone else's support work. That is a completely normal arrangement and it will not affect the quality or priority of anything you receive from us. We re-confirm your choice at every plan reassessment, and you can change your mind at any point without explaining yourself.
Questions
Support coordination, answered
Plan management is about the money: paying invoices and keeping the books. Support coordination is about the supports: finding them, connecting them and making them work together. They are separately funded and do different jobs. My Aid provides support coordination but not plan management, so you will need a separate plan manager if you want one.
No, and you should never feel any pressure to. Many of the people we coordinate for use entirely different providers for their day-to-day supports. Our job is to find you the best fit, and sometimes that is not us.
That is your call, and we agree it up front based on what is in your plan and what you actually want. Some people want a fortnightly check-in; others only want to hear from us when something needs doing. Both are fine.
Make your plan work harder
Send your plan through and we will talk you through what is in it. No obligation either way.
